Why choose an orthodontist?

Orthodontists are specialists who complete an additional two to three years of specialized training beyond dental school in order to learn how to properly align teeth and jaws. Dr. Milena completed a three-year orthodontic residency and is also a board-certified orthodontist.

Why choose a board certified orthodontist?

To become board certified, an orthodontist has to pass a rigorous set of written and clinical examinations, as well as a comprehensive review of his or her credentials. A board-certified orthodontist, also known as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, has been voluntarily examined by his or her peers on the basis of knowledge and clinical skills.

Becoming board certified signifies the orthodontist’s pursuit of continued proficiency and excellence in orthodontics. Dr. Milena is a board-certified orthodontist.

What is the best age to visit the orthodontist?

If you want to improve the look and feel of your smile, then any age can be a great time to see an orthodontist. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children first visit an orthodontist around the age of seven; however, orthodontic treatment is not exclusive to children and teens.

About one in every five orthodontic patients is over the age of 21. Whether you’re considering treatment for yourself or for a child, any age is a good time to visit the orthodontist.

How long will my treatment take?

Treatment varies, based on your individual needs. Treatment times could vary from 6 month to 36 months. Dr. Milena will discuss the details of your treatment plan and your estimated treatment time during your complimentary consultation appointment.
